The story behind all lies in my life
The story begins.... I was born poor. Living in the small village. Often we hadn't enough food to eat. Whenever we had some food, Mother often telling eat a little and don’t waste that, maybe tomorrow we don’t have food or in my mother tongue “unti unti PAELA bukas ay wala na”. While she was transferring her rice into my plate, she would say "Eat this rice, with this noodle (payless) and she will divide the little fish into 4. We are four siblings. "I know what the taste of that fish, noddles is enough for me” This was Mother's First Lie. I thought all noodles name is payless but I realize that it’s the cheapest kind of noodle that time.
o As I grew, my father worked in far place to earn money for our living and he will go home once a week. “your father will go home every week because its difficult to travel from city to our house” This was Mother's Second Lie. But actually he don’t have enough money for paying his transportation and he don’t want to go home without money.
o Then, in order to fund my education, we transfer to big city and gave up her all time to our small canteen; from 4am till 11pm, she is the one who will buy raw foods, cook it, sell it, and wash the plates and of course with the help of my very kind father. They believe that they could give us a little bit more nutritious food for our growth and to send us in school. Once the food that they are selling is not consumed, We will eat that. While I was eating the remained viand, mother would sit beside me and she will tell after that “please massage my back and legs after you eat, I just want to watch television with you”, my heart was touched when I heard that, I know it is leg cramps and backache are from tiring day. This was Mother's Third Lie.
o I study hard; I become consistent honour student during my primary school. I finished my high school for three years instead of four years. I become scholar during my college days but due to some personal problem after two years I payed for the school fees and eliminated in scholarship. When I had to sit my graduation right as a bachelor of science in nursing. Mother accompanied me. After dawn, Mother waited for me for hours. When graduation finished, I ran to meet her. Mother embraced me. My friends told her to go in their house but mother say “thank you she only will join you I have headache already”. Actually nobody is in our store. This was Mother's Fourth Lie.
o After I had finished my studies, I pass the licensure examination for nursing in my country and gotten a job in a nearby government hospital as Intensive Care Unit staff nurse. I am the youngest staff that time. It was time for my Mother to retire but she don’t want and insist that she’s still young and canteen is her life. I kept giving her money but she was steadfast and even gives the money back to me. She said, "I have enough money." That was Mother's fifth Lie
o I continued dreaming, I applied in every single agency going outside the country. Until I passed licensure exam for nurses of United States and the gate of opportunity going to Kuwait open for me. With a big jump in my salary, I decided to work abroad but Mother doesn’t want; she said to me "My earning is still enough for us." That was Mother's Sixth Lie
o I still decided to go away from my country just to pay back what my parents given to me. Bringing the fear in my heart and tears in my eyes I travel 13hours via plane just to look for a good opportunity that other country promised me. I adopt and embrace other culture and live independently. Being alone for the first time in my life is not that easy for me, longing for my friends and family and missing the place where I grew up is difficult for me. My pillow is the witness of every tears that flow to my eyes. “I’m ok Mom, I am enjoying here, don’t worry about me” this is the first time I lied to my self and to my mother.
o After more than two years of working in Kuwait, I gave house and monthly allowance to my parents. They just deserve what I’m giving and now my vacation is coming. I asked my mother what she want she replied “no need I have many things here, just have your savings, still I have money from your sister and from you” That was Mother's Seventh Lie.
o Now I am so excited to see my mother and father. Until now I am still single, still dreaming and hoping that other country will open the door for me to give a good and better life for my future family. I hope someday I will be the sweetest and caring wife for my husband and be a good mother to my children like my mother. YES, MOTHER IS AN ANGEL ! M - O - T - H - E – R "
o M" is for the Million things she gave me,
o "O" means Only that she's growing old,
o "T" is for the Tears she shed to save me,
o "H" is for her Heart of gold,
o "E" is for her Eyes with love-light shining in them,
o "R" means Right, and right she'll always be,
o Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER" a word that means the world to me. For those of you who are lucky to be still blessed with your Mom's presence on Earth, this story is beautiful. THIS IS MY TRUE LIFE STORY..
